Congratulations to Chaz Forsyth on COLFO Life Membership
NZDA is proud to announce that Chaz Forsyth has been awarded Life Membership by the Council of Licensed Firearms Owners (COLFO).
This honour, presented at a council meeting in Wellington this past weekend, recognises Chaz's tireless efforts to promote the interests of New Zealand's licensed firearms owners over many years.
This recognition is a testament to Chaz’s dedication to our community. He has devoted his life to understanding New Zealand's firearms laws and systems and has been an NZDA National Life Member since 2018. Chaz has made substantial contributions to recreational hunting, shooting research, and advocacy, and recently gained a PhD related to firearms.
Chaz’s commitment goes beyond advocacy. Last Friday, prior to the COLFO meeting, he visited the National Office in Wellington to generously donate two rifles to the NZDA Heritage Trust Museum, further preserving New Zealand’s natural heritage and hunting history.
The donated rifles include a Savage Model 99E in 243, formerly owned by renowned author Bruce Grant, and Chaz’s personal sporterized .303 Lee Enfield. Both rifles will be on display for the public to see.
Chaz is a well-known and beloved figure within NZDA, and recognized as a familiar face at our NZDA Conferences. He has also served as NZDA’s National Secretary, continually championing the values of our community.
Please join us in congratulating Chaz on this well-deserved recognition from COLFO.
