Both of these competitions are aimed at hunters and use a deer silhouette as a target with no scoring rings marked on the target.
Firearms and Scope Rules for JM Wilkinson Cup
The firearms used are rifles that weigh not more than 4.5kg and have a scope sight limited to 12 power while all senior members use a hunting rifle at 100m with a maximum weight limit of 4.5kg, the scope is limited to 12 power and no slings or other equipment are allowed to be used.
Hawkes Bay Challenge Cup (Junior only)
The Hawkes Bay Challenge uses the same deer silhouette target and is specifically for juniors using a centrefire rifle, same firearm and equipment rules apply as the JM Wilkinson Postal shoot.
Both of these competitions are NZDA National competitions and have prizes awarded at the NZDA conference.
