The New Zealand Deerstalkers Association has made a formal submission to the Ministry of Justice on proposed amendments to the Arms Regulations.
This submission relates to proposed changes to the Arms Regulations, the practical rules that sit beneath the Arms Act, rather than a new Amendment Bill, but will still have a direct impact on firearms users.
NZDA has engaged constructively to ensure the outcome reflects a practical, risk-based framework that supports both public safety and lawful firearm use.
Key areas we addressed
- Licensing and approvals, including visitor licences
- Museums and heritage firearms
- Deactivation and modification rules
