The NZDA National Competitions are back for 2026 - and this year, every eligible entrant will go in the draw to win our biggest spot prize yet.
Whether you’ve taken a standout trophy, captured an unforgettable hunting moment on camera, written a story worth sharing, or competed on the range, there’s a category for you.
Competition Categories
You can enter across four* national competition categories:
- Antler, Horn and Tusk
- Photographic and Film
- Literary
- Target Shooting
*Special categories are entered via committees.

Incomplete entries may not be accepted, so make sure all forms, supporting material and competition submissions are completed before the deadline.

National Conference
Winners across all categories, including the MIA Tent prize draw winner, will be announced at NZDA’s 78th National Conference, taking place from 24–26 July 2026 in Wellington.
MIA Prize Draw Terms & Conditions
This promotion is open to current NZDA members who submit an eligible entry into the 2026 NZDA National Competitions.
Further terms apply:
- Entrants must be current financial members of NZDA at the time of entry.
- Competition entries must meet all rules and eligibility requirements for their respective category.
- One prize draw entry per person, regardless of how many competition categories they enter.
- Incomplete, late or ineligible competition entries will not be included in the prize draw.
- Entries close at 5:00pm, Friday 3 July 2026.
- The prize winner will be randomly drawn by NZDA.
- The winner will be announced at the 78th NZDA National Conference.
- The prize consists of a MIA Gear Westlander II Tent + V2 Woodstove Combo and Westlander II Tub Floor package valued at $3,434.00.
- The prize will be displayed at the 2026 Hunting & Wildlife Expo.
- The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
- NZDA reserves the right to amend, substitute or cancel the promotion if circumstances require.
