Huts & Tracks Fund

Latest Funding Announcements

In November 2017, 25 more projects were announced to receive Outdoor Recreation Consortium – now Backcountry Trust – funding. These projects will receive nearly $170,000. Bringing the total allocated over the last 4 years to $1.4 million.

All the projects are highlights, and represent significant individual and community effort and passion for these places. Huts to be given some volunteer mahi include: Howletts Hut, Toka Biv and Top Gorge Hut in the Ruahine ranges, while down south outdoors folk will soon notice a difference to Mingaha Biv, John Reid Hut, Cass Saddle Hut, Pool Hut and Reardon Hut among others. Mountain biking trails to receive support include the Waihaha track, the Hokonui hills network and the wellknown beech forest loop above Whites Bay in Marlborough.

Round 9 of Hut & Tracks now open.
