Submission on the use of Vertebrate Toxic Agents

The New Zealand Deerstalkers' Association Inc main concern is the increasing incidence of toxins entering our food chain and this is the reason this submission targets the availability of the Vertebrate Toxic Agents as listed.

The documents referred to in this submission are available on request from the NZDA national office:-

  1. An extensive summary of nine rodenticides, commissioned by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  2. 1080 hazards to fish, wildlife and invertebrates: Synoptic Review of 1080, carried out for the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (PWRC), the establishment responsible for the number 1080 being applied to Sodium Monofluoroacetate.
  3. Protocol for Environment water sampling and testing associated with 1080 Pest Control Operations, by GR Wright, Landcare Research.
