Entries this year about the same as last year with most entries in by closing date which helps greatly in getting the required targets etc organized. We did have a small glitch when a couple of late entries took the two main positional matches too two places more than the 100m range normally handles but setting up two portable frames allowed us to run with one detail which does help to reduce time taken for the match. The weather conditions for the week were pretty good, generally fine with light winds. Two disappointing aspects were only two entries from South Island and no junior entries.

As this is a single match, there is no progressive build up to the final score, so the winners are found after all targets marked. The only awards in this event are the top three places; Mark Poots 589.27; John Pearce (SWAI) 583.19; Grant Botting 582.22.
Paul Carmine.
Again a match with only top three placings awarded; Paul Carmine 55; Geoff Brewer 54; Richard Huby 52. For the first time in a while we did not need any shoot-off’s to decide placings.
100m top three: Ian Owen 312; Tony Titheridge 308; Dean Maisey 3
200m top three: Ian Owen 295; Tony Titheridge 277, Mark Poots 268.

Not surprising then that the aggregate winners are: Ian Owen 607; Tony Titheridge 585; Dean Maisey 574.
The conditions we had for this match were probably the worst for the week and the scores reflect this. The possible score is 660.
This match is not too affected by conditions though it was colder, the number of prior entries were doubled on the day, not good if numbers were greater in the first place but welcomed under the circumstances.
Slow runs top three: Paul Carmine 268; Vince Payne (RUA) 244; Mark Poots 246.
Fast runs top three: Paul Carmine 248; Vince Payne 210; Colin Curreen 186.

Winners: Paul Carmine 179; Vince Payne 165; Brenda Perry 164; after s/o with Colin Curreen 164.
Generally the week went very well, we had one very pleasant surprise when Grant Botting arrived on the first day and said his dad who was with him was keen to help out scoring etc. now we were not about to refuse an offer like that and we thank Andrew Botting very much for his several days working. Also must thank Sandi once again for all the great work she does, a lot of it behind the scenes, also Bill Seal from Taupo, who range officer’d for two days for us, And Geoff Brewer who helped with the Silhouette match. Also the shooters themselves earned a vote of thanks, pitching in whenever there was a job to be done, one and all THANK YOU. Malcolm Perry..
